Princes’ Street Cork – a new dining experience begins.

29. 6. 2020

In response to the challenges of re-opening and social distancing following Covid-19 restrictions, Meitheal Architects have been working hard with the extraordinary food traders on Princes' Street and Cork City Council to bring a new and innovative vision for urban space to the city. This is an exciting development and a fantastic use of public open space for the joy of it’s citizens and visitors. We are looking forward to developing this plan with all parties involved as a new vision for Cork City.

Best Practice
Architecture in Ireland.

Meitheal is a unique architectural practice with collaboration
at the core of its philosophy.

“Meitheal were an outstanding partner on this build. Luke and his team worked with us to ensure our briefs were fully met, both on time and financially, and calmly overcame any build issues that cropped up. The hotel operated as normal during the build which demonstrated their understanding of how our business works and our important operational needs”

Graham Fitzgerald, General Manager,

Dingle Skellig Hotel

“The team at Meitheal went above and beyond throughout the project with such willingness and professionalism, and for that and everything else, we are truly grateful. ”

Aileen O'Neill, CEO,

Cork ARC Cancer Support House

“Meitheal have undertaken various projects for me personally, and for partners in the practice. We find Meitheal to be an exceptional professional service provider, always bringing creative design skill and a professional approach to executing and administering contracts and contractors. We continue to engage with them and are happy to recommend them.”

Cian Beecher, Partner,

Arthur Cox Solicitors

“The planning of a new community of 300 homes and community services was a large challenge. We faced many competing agendas – the local community, the local authority, the delivery of LIHAF infrastructure, archaeology and heritage issues. The housing team at Meitheal took charge of the process, established clear milestones and targets and secured an excellent planning approval. Clear communication is a strength of theirs and the fact that all stakeholders were engaged with and we avoided an appeal to An Bord Pleanala is to the Architect’s credit.”

Donald Lynch,

Homely Developments Ltd

“Our finished medical centre is flooded with natural light, creating a wonderful ambience for patients and staff alike. Pat used the available space to great effect, with many wonderful subtle design features, which ensures the building works for patients and staff.”

Dr. Diarmuid Quinlan,

Woodview Family Doctors

“It’s a long-standing relationship - people who get it for the long term, people who are at the other end of the phone, who you’ve built a relationship out of trust. That to me, is key to what’s required, and it comes in spades with the guys in Meitheal - That’s my experience.”

Frankie Whelehan,

The Montenotte Hotel

“Luke Hickson is one of the best and most talented designers that I have met. I greatly enjoy working with him and I know that he will bring the passion and flair that he demonstrated with me to his future projects and endeavours.”

John Rocha,

Three Moon Design Group

“We have over 600 stores nationwide, no two alike. Each site and brief brings its own challenges, opportunities, complexities and personalities. Our experience of Patrick and his team is that they bring skillful design solutions and implement them cleverly, cognisant of each project’s unique circumstances. In retail every hour is precious. Meitheal’s turnaround of information and response times are exceptional, and it is apparent that they resource a diverse in-house skill base. Colleagues in our strategic planning department speak highly of Meitheal’s inputs on complex planning and legal questions.”

Joseph LeBlanc, Regional Development Manager,

Musgrave Retail Partners

“Design has always been a big thing for me — I know what I like. Luke Hickson and Pat O Toole of Meitheal have been absolutely brilliant, they really get what I want.”
