The hotel is aimed at tourists who are travelling light and are wanting to stay somewhere central.
Railway Gardens, Cork City

We are proud to announce that our Strategic Housing Development submission for the 118 apartment 'Railway Gardens' scheme has been approved by An Bord Pleanála. This is one of the first Build to Rent schemes in Cork to be approved, setting a precedent as An Bord Pleanála underline national policies in relation to promoting sustainable, dense, connected communities and neighbourhoods in appropriate key urban locations. This permission builds on our recent and ongoing PRS experience and we look forward to our housing and place-making team bringing their expertise to the rest of our growing PRS portfolio.
At our offices based in Dublin, Cork and Kerry, we are committed to providing an exceptional, bespoke and client-centred service.
Railway Gardens, Cork City
“Meitheal have undertaken various projects for me personally, and for partners in the practice. We find Meitheal to be an exceptional professional service provider, always bringing creative design skill and a professional approach to executing and administering contracts and contractors. We continue to engage with them and are happy to recommend them.”
Cian Beecher, Partner,
“The planning of a new community of 300 homes and community services was a large challenge. We faced many competing agendas – the local community, the local authority, the delivery of LIHAF infrastructure, archaeology and heritage issues. The housing team at Meitheal took charge of the process, established clear milestones and targets and secured an excellent planning approval. Clear communication is a strength of theirs and the fact that all stakeholders were engaged with and we avoided an appeal to An Bord Pleanala is to the Architect’s credit.”
“Our finished medical centre is flooded with natural light, creating a wonderful ambience for patients and staff alike. Pat used the available space to great effect, with many wonderful subtle design features, which ensures the building works for patients and staff.”
Dr. Diarmuid Quinlan,
“It’s a long-standing relationship and people who get it for the long term and people who are at the other end of the phone who you’ve built a relationship out of trust. That to me, is key to what’s required, and it comes in spades with the guys in Meitheal. That’s my experience.”
“Luke Hickson is one of the best and most talented designers that I have met. I greatly enjoy working with him and I know that he will bring the passion and flair that he demonstrated with me to his future projects and endeavours.”
“We have over 600 stores nationwide, no two alike. Each site and brief brings its own challenges, opportunities, complexities and personalities. Our experience of Patrick and his team is that they bring skillful design solutions and implement them cleverly, cognisant of each project’s unique circumstances. In retail every hour is precious. Meitheal’s turnaround of information and response times are exceptional, and it is apparent that they resource a diverse in-house skill base. Colleagues in our strategic planning department speak highly of Meitheal’s inputs on complex planning and legal questions.”
Joseph LeBlanc, Regional Development Manager,
“Design has always been a big thing for me — I know what I like. Luke Hickson and Pat O Toole of Meitheal have been absolutely brilliant, they really get what I want.”
