Irish Architecture Meitheal | About

‘Meitheal' is an Irish word that describes the tradition of neighbours and communities coming together in a working cooperative.

Meitheal Architects was established in 2003 by a team of individuals who recognised the need for a more collaborative approach to design and project procurement.

Adding value to each and every project, the team at Meitheal consists of highly skilled designers, architects, technologists and administrators who are enthusiastic and passionate about delivering quality design.

Urban Design

Making homes and communities

Meitheal bring a personal interest and decades of professional experience to the challenges of multi-unit urban developments.

We are very conscious of the many stakeholders in the design of multi-unit housing and we strive to balance the often-competing requirements of statutory bodies, local authorities, developers, funders and residents.

We are commercially aware and understand the importance of adding value and capturing efficiency.

Meitheal | About

Housing design is a responsibility we are privileged to bear.

Good design has a positive impact on the lives of the individuals and the growth of neighbourhoods.

Meitheal Architects have a portfolio of diverse housing work. This includes private one-off residences, multi-storey urban developments, student accommodation, and build-to-rent developments for the Private Rented Sector (PRS).

We work regularly with private clients, property developers, state bodies, local authorities and charities.

Examples of our work have been used by the Department of the Environment and several local authorities to illustrate best practice to assist industry and further develop legislative policy.
