The programme, designed by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI), provides students with the opportunity to learn how an architectural project develops from inception to final presentation.
The students worked with experienced Meitheal mentors Brendan Dwyer & Eva Zivko to design projects set on local sites — the creation of a café in Listowel; the redevelopment of an athletics track in Castleisland to modernise and improve its facilities; and the further redevelopment of Morrison’s Island into a vibrant social space.
Throughout the week-long programmes, our mentors supported the students in gaining exposure into the architectural process, and honing their design development, research, software, and presentation skills. We are delighted to see the creative and thoughtful final designs, and to engage with the next generation of architects.
