Site works are progressing well at the Cronin's Wood LRD near Killarney town centre.

107 of 249 no. total units are now under construction on the previously undeveloped brownfield site. This central location, enhanced by new access roads, provides linkage to all needed contemporary amenities, along with major transport networks and employment centres.

A creche, accessible car and bicycle parking will also be provided. The residential units range between 1 and 5 bedrooms, hosted in a mixture of dwelling houses and maisonettes contained in 2-storey buildings to minimise visual disruption in this area of rich natural heritage.

Environmental sensitivity is at the forefront of this complex development, placing foundations while maximally maintaining the existing site contours and sloping topography. A tree planting programme is arranged to enhance the ecological landscape and native hedgerows are to be planted to support local wildlife. This sensitive hard and soft landscaping will also provide eight separate open spaces to ensure easy access to amenity for all home-zones over the large site, while also integrating the community through pedestrian connectivity.
