Café Cecilia

Project overview

Work was completed in summer 2021 on the new restaurant for Max Rocha, consolidating a 20-year relationship with the Rocha family. Café Cecilia is a thoroughly modern restaurant taking advantage of a canal-side commercial unit in Hackney in North London. The industrial aesthetic blends with a sense of craft and care that springs from Max’s cooking style, concentrating on traditional methods and quality ingredients. The stripped back fitout was completed in a short 8 week period, after three years of scoping and planning with Max and John to find the right space. The resultant space is one that can only come about from a strong ethic from the proprietor and fantastic design collaboration with John and Max, making the project a seamless and delightful project.
